What are Flood Warnings?

Flood Warning

Flood Warnings are for specific small areas where messages can be issued for local communities. We try to issue this message 3-6 hours in advance of expected flooding, however, this may not always be possible in areas prone to rapid flooding or when water levels escalate more quickly than expected. Flood Warnings can be issued 24 hours a day. There are 12 new Flood Warning Areas along the Solway Firth coast which, will benefit communities and people that travel through the area.
